Title: Xmmp (Jabber) Server
Post by: Nick on Jun 28, 2013, 12:51 PM
There is now a Xmpp (same as gchat) server running here on the r-land. TSL encryption is supported by default it seems. I don't think it stores the messages internally encrypted though. Not sure if that is a client requirement or what yet.
Not sure what to do with it yet. You all have accounts (well, most of you. Brad, Cody and Courtney do) Your passwords are the standard default password. Not sure how you can change them yet... supposedly you can use a xmpp client that supports the feature, xabber for android foolishly does not seem to.

I will see if there is any web-interface for people to manage accounts, or just a web-based client to log into and chat/change password.

Then setup group chats.

Edit:
https://jwchat.org/ <- is a web-based client that can log in and set update passwords. I don't like it's multi-popup window interface though.

Cool. I installed a chat program (http://adium.im/) on my system. I'll probably end up installing it on my work laptop too. I've connected the Randomand account as well as Google account(s).

Chat away!
